Full-Scale Fatigue Testing

2016
Full-scale fatigue testing (FSFT) forms an integral part of the aircraft development and certification prior to induction into service. The five historical stages of evolution of FSFT are described with a detailed description of present-day requirements including composite structures. The technology used in the FSFT process is explained in detail.

Full-Scale Structural Testing

2001
Abstract This article describes the role of the full-scale testing in assessing composite structural systems of aircraft and qualifying them for in-service use. The typical full-scale tests include static, durability, and damage tolerance.

Full-scale load tests on instrumented micropiles

Geotechnical Engineering, 2004
In September 2001, following an exceptional rainfall event with an estimated return time of about 500 years, a number of ancient buildings located in a restricted area in the historical centre of Napoli underwent significant settlement and heavy structural damage.

Full Scale Road Simulated Endurance Test

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1968
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A facility which duplicates the random road profile in the laboratory fatigue testing of a complete vehicle structure is presented. A road simulated endurance test can be conducted with this facility, which utilizes magnetic tape command to electro-hydraulic shakers.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph ...

Dynamic Full-Scale Tests

2016
Shake-table testing of full-scale storage rack systems loaded with real merchandise represents the most direct experimental procedure to assess their seismic behaviour. Unfortunately, this type of testing is expensive compared to other methodologies and only a very limited number of shake-table studies on storage racks have been performed to date in ...

Minicomputers in Full-Scale Structural Testing

Journal of the Technical Councils of ASCE, 1979
Minicomputer oriented data acquisition and data processing systems are effectively used in full-scale structural tests. Digital computer techniques have greatly augmented the existing analog test techniques. Computerized systems are used to monitor structural behavior during the test and perform numerous on-line data management tasks.

Full-Scale 3D Wall Bracing Tests

Structures Congress 2008, 2008
Beginning in early 2006, the APA Research Center expanded to include the capability of testing full-scale three-dimensional houses. This paper summarizes results of wall bracing racking tests from a full-scale 25 x 37.5 x 9-ft-tall three-dimensional wood frame house.

A full-scale structural fatigue test program

Journal of Aircraft, 1964
Test methods are described for an experimental fatigue evaluation of a full-scale airplane structure. Specific reference is made to a fatigue test program conducted on the Lockheed P3A wing and gear. A flight-by-flight test loading spectrum comprising 7500 flight hours was constructed to represent the total service experience of the airplane.

Full Scale Wing Fatigue Testing

1957
The problem of fatigue in aircraft structures has been under investigation for many years. Much work has been accomplished in testing and evaluating the effects of different cyclic loads primarily upon material coupons, typical joints, and small component parts.

Full-scale cold bending demonstration test

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2007
Abstract A new, innovative cold bending procedure was developed by a US fabricator to economically meet tolerance requirements for the curved steel girders used in the Miami Metro-Mover. Based on the procedures used by the fabricator, the authors developed approximate analytical solutions relating loads to residual deformation when curving ...
