High‐Performance Ternary Organic Solar Cells via Isomeric Engineering of Nonfullerene Guest Acceptors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two isomeric nonfullerene acceptors, BTP‐γ‐Br and BTP‐δ‐Br, were designed to investigate their effects on the optoelectronic properties and photovoltaic performance of ternary blends. Incorporating BTP‐γ‐Br into the D18:N3 binary system can enhance film crystallinity and suppress charge recombination, achieving a high PCE of 19.2% and a certified JSC ...

A Reliable Strategy to Unravel the Structure and Composition of Semiconducting Conjugated Donor‐Acceptor Block Copolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work proposes a reliable strategy to elucidate the structure and composition of conjugated donor‐acceptor block copolymers. The method, based on NMR analysis, allows to extract key structural information such as the number of heterojunctions (NoH) and the number of blocks (NoB) of the copolymers.

Explaining the magnetic moment reduction of Fullerene encapsulated Gadolinium through a theoretical model

open access: yes, 2004
We propose a Theoretical model accounting for the recently observed reduced magnetic moment of Gadolinium in fullerenes. While this reduction has been observed also for other trivalent rare-hearth atoms (Dy3+, Er3+, Ho3+) in fullerenes and can be ...

Interplay of Crystallization and Amorphous Spinodal Decomposition During Thermal Annealing of Organic Photoactive Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase‐Field simulations are carried out to elucidate nanomorphology formation mechanisms in organic photoactive layers under thermal annealing. The predicted bulk heterojunction structures are in excellent agreement with Scanning Electron Microscopy measurements.

The Formation of Fullerenes in Planetary Nebulae

open access: yesGalaxies, 2018
In the last decade, fullerenes have been detected in a variety of astrophysical environments, with the majority being found in planetary nebulae. Laboratory experiments have provided us with insights into the conditions and pathways that can lead to ...

Reinforcement of Cathode Interface Using a Dipolar Small Molecule for Enhancing Operational Stability of Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a high‐dipole interlayer, MQPPO, that simultaneously improves efficiency and stability in perovskite solar cells. Its strong interfacial dipole enhances photovoltaic performance, while its uniform coverage and strong interaction with Ag effectively suppress AgI formation, ensuring long‐term stability under moisture and thermal stress.

On the unipolarity of charge transport in methanofullerene diodes

open access: yesnpj Flexible Electronics, 2017
Optoelectronics: Unipolar electron transport in fullerene diodes Fullerenes are commonly used in organic solar cells to attract and trap negatively charged electrons, whilst being able to block positively charged holes in photodiodes applications.
