Glove Reuse Limits in Hair Dyeing: Permeation of p‐Phenylenediamine and Aminophenols Through Natural Rubber Latex and Neoprene After Repeated Washing

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 95, Issue 3, Page 309-317, September 2026.
Disposable glove reuse reduced chemical protection during repeated hair‐dye exposure. Under ASTM F739 testing, natural‐rubber‐latex deteriorated rapidly after one reuse, whereas neoprene performed better initially but also declined over repeated cycles. Wash type had no significant effect. These findings support single‐use only and discourage the reuse

An Exploration of Mechanochemical Activation on Various Potential Supplementary Cementitious Materials

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) is a major way to reduce the carbon footprint of concrete. Mechanochemical activation (MCA) can be used to activate inert materials that can then be used as SCMs. In this study, the effect of MCA using a planetary ball mill was investigated for 16 materials, ranging from natural occurring ...

Fumed silica-coated magnetic particles: DNA extraction application

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai. Biologia
Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) is widely used for preparing magnetic particles in DNA extraction kits, but it poses toxicity and safety concerns. To address this issue, we developed magnetic particles using fumed silica as a safer alternative to TEOS ...
