Comparative study on the mechanical properties of denture base resins and resilient silicone liners fabricated using different methods and by different manufacturers

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The aim of this study was to compare the mechanical properties of clinically used resilient silicone liners and denture base resins (DBRs) prepared using different fabrication methods and to evaluate how different combinations influenced these properties.

Giant kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) gametophytes grow endophytically in red macroalgae: Implications for kelp restoration

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, EarlyView.
Abstract Giant kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) forests have declined by 95% in Australia since the 1970s due to climate change. Despite expanding restoration efforts, long‐term recovery is still lacking. Factors influencing recruitment by the microscopic gametophyte phase may represent a key mechanism underpinning the successful recovery and restoration of

In‐situ asphaltene capture with iron oxide nanoparticles in steam‐assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) for improved recovery and partial upgrading of bitumen

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 9, Page 4787-4808, September 2026.
Key improvements obtained by incorporating nanoparticles into a lab‐scale SAGD process configuration. The bar plots show enhanced oil recovery, reduced viscosity, and increased asphaltene adsorption in nanoparticle‐assisted scenarios compared with conventional SAGD.

Commercial permethrin elicits chemoreceptive responses on different Anopheles gambiae sensory appendages

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 9, Page 8609-8617, September 2026.
Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes exhibit takeoff responses when presented to commercial permethrin headspace. This product elicits electrophysiological activity in the antennae and tarsi. However, only the chemical information acquired from the tarsi plays a major role in the observed behavioral response.
