On Pervin's example concerning the connected-open topology

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1990
Irudayanathan and Naimpally [1] introduced a topology for function spaces (called the “connected-open” topology) which has the property that the connected functions form a closed set provided that the codomain is completely normal.

Sustained Therapeutic Efficacy of Intravenous Plasminogen Concentrate in Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Plasminogen Deficiency: An Analysis of Dosing Parameters and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

Natural Extracellular Electron Transfer Between Semiconducting Minerals and Electroactive Bacterial Communities Occurred on the Rock Varnish

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
Rock varnish is a thin coating enriched with manganese (Mn) and iron (Fe) oxides. The mineral composition and formation of rock varnish elicit considerable attention from geologists and microbiologists.

Leukemia and Exposure to Potential Benzene Sources in Children From the Mexico City Metropolitan Area, 2010–2021: A Geospatial Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer in Mexico, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most frequent subtype. Exposure to high concentrations of benzene has been associated with ALL incidence, particularly in urban areas. This study evaluated the relationship between distance to benzene emission sources and the number

Function-space compactifications of function spaces

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2002
The paper presents a nice discussion of applications of the theory of continuous lattices in topology and analysis. We mention two pure topological results which are consequences of more general results: (1) If \(X\) and \(Y\) are compact Hausdorff spaces, then the space \(C_k(X,Y)\) of continuous mappings from \(X\) into \(Y\) with the compact-open ...

Space of quasicontinuous functions with the topology of uniform convergence on semi-compacta

open access: yesApplied General Topology
We introduce a new set-open topology on function spaces namely the semi-compact-open topology. The topology of uniform convergence on semi-compacta lies between the topology of pointwise convergence and the topology of uniform convergence.

STRUCTURAL FEATURES OF SMALL LANDSCAPED SPACES IN MODERN CITIES

open access: yesАрхитектон, 2021
The article examines the structure and characteristics of small green spaces. The novelty of the research work lies in the introduction of the term "small green space" into scientific circulation and determination of the relationship between its ...
