A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Generalized Open Sets and Closure Operators via Point-to-Neighborhood Assignments
We equip a topological space (X,τ) with a function a:X→τ satisfying the single axiom x∈a(x). The resulting triple (X,τ,a), which we call an aura topological space, provides a point-to-open-set assignment that differs from all existing auxiliary ...

ABSTRACT Objective Considerable efforts have been dedicated to developing effective treatments for post‐stroke executive impairment (PSEI), among which repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown great potential. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of high‐frequency rTMS on working memory (WM) and response ...

\tau*-generalized semi continuous functions in topological spaces
In this paper, we introduce new class of functions called τ ∗ -Generalized Semi Continuous functions in topological spaces and study some of its properties and its relationship with some existing functions.

Metrizability of spaces of homomorphisms between metric vector spaces
This note tries to give an answer to the following question: Is there a sufficiently rich class of metric vector spaces such that sufficiently large spaces of continuous linear maps between them are metrizable?Comment: 12 pages, no figure, submitted to ...

Thermoreflectance Detection of Point Defects Resulting from Focused Ion Beam Milling
Focused ion beam (FIB) milling is a common tool for nanoscale material processing, however irradiation damage, redeposition, and contamination can occur. We use several characterization tools to show FIB‐induced effects beyond 1 mm from the milled area.

Kernel machine tests of association using extrinsic and intrinsic cluster evaluation metrics.
Modeling the network topology of the human brain within the mesoscale has become an increasing focus within the neuroscientific community due to its variation across diverse cognitive processes, in the presence of neuropsychiatric disease or injury, and ...

Convexity and quasi-uniformizability of closed preordered spaces
In many applications it is important to establish if a given topological preordered space has a topology and a preorder which can be recovered from the set of continuous isotone functions.

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Local Closure Functions in Hereditary Generalized Topological Spaces
In this paper, we introduce and study the notions of local closure functions and also we introduce the operator \(\Psi_\Gamma\) in hereditary generalized topological spaces.
