KCCA Feature Selection for fMRI Analysis

open access: yes, 2004
We use Kernel Canonical Correlation Analysis (KCCA) to infer brain activity in functional MRI by learning a semantic representation of fMRI brain scans and their associated activity signal.

Improved physiological noise regression in fNIRS: A multimodal extension of the General Linear Model using temporally embedded Canonical Correlation Analysis

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2020
For the robust estimation of evoked brain activity from functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) signals, it is crucial to reduce nuisance signals from systemic physiology and motion.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

The functional overlap between respiration and global signal and its behavioral relevance

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Resting-state fMRI studies encounter the challenge of interpreting fluctuations in the global signal (GS). The GS has been linked to arousal, vigilance states, cognition, and psychiatric disorders, suggesting its functional relevance.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Signal Extraction for Brain-Computer Interface

open access: yes, 2003
We use Kernel Canonical Correlation Analysis (KCCA) for detecting brain activity in function MRI by learning a semantic representation of fMRI brain scans and their associated time frequency.

Predictive Modeling of fMRI Brain States Using Functional Canonical Correlation Analysis

open access: yes, 2007
We present a novel method for predictive modeling of human brain states from functional neuroimaging (fMRI) data. Extending the traditional canonical correlation analysis of discrete data to the domain of stochastic functional measurements, the method explores the functional canonical correlation between stimuli and fMRI training data.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

UNSUPERVISED LEARNING OF ACOUSTIC FEATURES VIA DEEP CANONICAL CORRELATION ANALYSIS

open access: yes, 2015
It has been previously shown that, when both acoustic and artic-ulatory training data are available, it is possible to improve phonetic recognition accuracy by learning acoustic features from this multi-view data with canonical correlation analysis (CCA).
