An Algebraic Approach to Form Factors

open access: yes, 1994
An associative $*$-algebra is introduced (containing a $TTR$-algebra as a subalgebra) that implements the form factor axioms, and hence indirectly the Wightman axioms, in the following sense: Each $T$-invariant linear functional over the algebra ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Usefulness of the WAIS‐IV Short Form for Measuring Cognitive Function in Patients With Schizophrenia

open access: yesNeuropsychopharmacology Reports
Schizophrenia causes cognitive dysfunction. The assessment of cognitive function is important in the treatment of schizophrenia. The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) is used to assess cognitive function in patients with psychiatric disorders. For

De la forme urbaine à la structure métropolitaine : une typologie de la configuration interne des densités pour les principales métropoles européennes de l’Audit Urbain

open access: yesCybergeo, 2015
We analyze eight dimensions of the spatial structure of metropolitan regions in Europe. Our research is based on recent literature on the quantification of internal configurations of densities.

Density functional scheme for calculating the pair density

open access: yes, 2006
The density functional scheme for calculating the pair density is presented by means of the constrained-search technique. The resultant single-particle equation takes the form of the modified Hartree-Fock equation which contains the kinetic contribution ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.
