SEL1L-HRD1 interaction is required to form a functional HRD1 ERAD complex
The SEL1L-HRD1 protein complex represents the most conserved branch of endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated degradation (ERAD). Despite recent advances in both mouse models and humans, in vivo evidence for the importance of SEL1L in the ERAD complex ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Bayesian efficiency analysis with a flexible cost function [PDF]
In this paper we describe the use of Gibbs sampling methods for drawing posterior inferences in a model with an asymptotically ideal price aggregator, non-constant returns to scale and composed error.

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

FUNCTIONAL FORM SPECIFICATION IN THE QUARTERLY DEMAND FOR RED MEATS IN CANADA
Most demand studies, particularly those for food products, choose somewhat arbitrarily either a linear or a log-linear functional form. Since choice of functional form has implications for elasticities and their properties over time, either form may be ...

Search for the f(R, T) gravity functional form via gaussian processes
The f(R, T) gravity models, for which R is the Ricci scalar and T is the trace of the energy–momentum tensor, elevate the degrees of freedom of the renowned f(R) theories, by making the Einstein field equations of the theory to also depend on T.

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

DICHOTOMOUS-CHOICE, CONTINGENT-VALUATION QUESTIONS: FUNCTIONAL FORM IS IMPORTANT
A variety of questioning formats have been used in contingent-valuation studies, with dichotomous-choice questions becoming the preferred format. However, as with any empirical technique, continued applications raise questions that require attention if ...
