Review of Thin Lithium Metal Battery Anode Fabrication – Microstructure – Electrochemistry Relations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thin, lightweight lithium‐metal anodes are pivotal for practical high‐energy batteries. This review surveys processing routes that convert diverse Li precursors, e.g., ingots, melts, solutions, and vapor, into Li‐rich foils with controlled thickness, areal density, and tailored functionality.

Minimizing Schrödinger eigenvalues for confining potentials

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
We consider the problem of minimizing the lowest eigenvalue of the Schrödinger operator −Δ + V in L2(Rd) ${L}^{2}({\mathbb{R}}^{d})$ when the integral ∫e −tV  dx is given for some t > 0. We show that the eigenvalue is minimal for the harmonic oscillator

Refinements of Jensen’s and McShane’s inequalities with applications

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2020
In this article, we consider the generalized forms of the Jensen’s inequality given by Jessen and McShane for isotonic linear functionals, derive several refinements for the Jessen’s and McShane’s inequalities connected to certain functions from the ...

Some Gamma Function Inequalities [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1993
A class of completely monotonic functions are presented involving the gamma function as well as the derivative of the psi function. As a consequence, new upper and lower bounds for the ratio Γ ( x + 1 ) / Γ ( x + s ) \Gamma (x + 1)/\Gamma (x

Ultrasound in Women's Health: Mechanisms, Applications, and Emerging Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
As healthcare moves toward decentralization, ultrasound technologies are evolving from strictly imaging tools in clinical settings into versatile diagnostic and therapeutic platforms, with growing roles addressing women's health needs. This review highlights how ultrasound's underlying physical mechanisms can be harnessed to reduce disparities in women'

The Functional Orlicz Brunn-Minkowski Inequality for q-Capacity

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2020
In this paper, we establish functional forms of the Orlicz Brunn-Minkowski inequality and the Orlicz-Minkowski inequality for the electrostatic q-capacity, which generalize previous results by Zou and Xiong.

A Unifying Variational Perspective on Some Fundamental Information Theoretic Inequalities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper proposes a unifying variational approach for proving and extending some fundamental information theoretic inequalities. Fundamental information theory results such as maximization of differential entropy, minimization of Fisher information ...

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

New Results on Stability Analysis for Sampled-Data Control Systems With Nonuniform Sampling and Communication Delays

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper investigates the stability analysis of sampled-data control systems with nonuniform sampling and communication delays. First, by taking full advantage of effective information of the sampling intervals [tk, tk+1) and [tk-τ, tk+1-τ

Inequalities for hypergeometric functions [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1976
The upper and lower bounds for the determinant of a dominant diagonal matrix have been used recently to obtain bounds on the classical orthogonal polynomials. Similar methods are used here on the hypergeometric functions of Gauss and of Kummer.
