Random surface correlation functions [PDF]
Truncated pair functions for free random surface models and Bernoulli ensembles are examined. In both cases, the pair function is shown to obey Ornstein-Zernike scaling whenever various correlation lengths of the system satisfy a nonperturbative criterion.

Nonlocal Delaunay surfaces [PDF]
We construct codimension 1 surfaces of any dimension that minimize a periodic nonlocal perimeter functional among surfaces that are periodic, cylindrically symmetric and decreasing.

Chemically Functionalized Surface Patterning
AbstractPatterning substrates with versatile chemical functionalities from micro‐ to nanometer scale is a long‐standing and interesting topic. This review provides an overview of a range of techniques commonly used for surface patterning. The first section briefly introduces conventional micropatterning tools, such as photolithography and microcontact ...

Microscopic analysis of the octupole phase transition in Th isotopes [PDF]
A shape phase transition between stable octupole deformation and octupole vibrations in Th nuclei is analyzed in a microscopic framework based on nuclear density functional theory. The relativistic functional DD-PC1 is used to calculate axially-symmetric

Diffeomorphic functional brain surface alignment: Functional demons [PDF]
Aligning brain structures across individuals is a central prerequisite for comparative neuroimaging studies. Typically, registration approaches assume a strong association between the features used for alignment, such as macro-anatomy, and the variable observed, such as functional activation or connectivity.

Recent Progress in the Computational Many-Body Theory of Metal Surfaces [PDF]
In this article we describe recent progress in the computational many-body theory of metal surfaces, and focus on current techniques beyond the local-density approximation of density-functional theory.
