Multidentate Anchors for Surface Functionalization

AbstractThe bottom‐up functionalization of solid surfaces shows increasing importance for a wide range of interdisciplinary applications. Multidentate anchors with more than two contact points can bind to solid surfaces with strong chemisorption, well‐defined upright configuration, and tailored functionality.

Surface green functions

Abstract Formalism of surface Green functions (SGF) is briefly summarized. Applications to the electron structure of surfaces are given, both, for the abrupt step potential and for the smooth image-type surface barrier. Interfaces, including periodically repeated ones in superlattices are presented.
