Peridynamic Mindlin Plate Formulation for Functionally Graded Materials [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Composites Science, 2020
In this study, a new peridynamic Mindlin plate formulation is presented which is suitable for the analysis of functionally graded materials. The governing equations of peridynamic formulation are obtained by using Euler-Lagrange equations in conjunction with Taylor’s expansion.

Shear Correction Factors for Functionally Graded Plates [PDF]

open access: yesMechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures, 2007
The Reissner-Mindlin plate model for calculation of functionally graded materials has been proposed in literature by using shear correction coefficient of homogeneous model. However, this use is a priori not appropriate for the gradient material. Identification of the transverse shear factors is thus investigated in this paper.

Displacement calculus of the functionally graded plates by finite element method

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
This paper presents our researching results regarding numerical calculus by Finite Element Method (FEM) of the Functionally Graded Plates (FGP). Two approching ways were used: the concept of multilayered plate and the concept of equivalent plate.

A New Quasi-3D Model for Functionally Graded Plates [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, 2019
This article investigates the static behavior of functionally graded plate under mechanical loads by using a new quasi 3D model. The theory is designated as fifth-order shear and normal deformation theory (FOSNDT).

Dispersive waves in functionally graded plates [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The dispersion waves propagating in anisotropic functionally graded (FG) plates with arbitrary transverse heterogeneity and arbitrary elastic monoclinic anisotropy are analysed within a recently developed six-dimensional formalism. The dispersion relation is obtained for all modes of dispersive harmonic waves propagating in an unbounded plate.

Natural frequency of F.G. rectangular plate by shear deformation theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Natural frequency of functionally graded (F.G.) rectangular plate is carried out by using second-order shear deformation theory (SSDT). The material properties of functionally graded rectangular plates, except the Poisson's ratio, are assumed to vary ...

A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory is developed for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates. The theory accounts for sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress, and satisfies the free transverse shear stress ...

Static Bending and Vibration Analysis of a Rectangular Functionally Gradient Piezoelectric Plate on an Elastic Foundation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
In this paper, a functionally graded piezoelectric plate on an elastic foundation composed of two different piezoelectric materials bonded together in the form of plate is studied, and its static bending and fundamental frequencies are analyzed.
