Shear Correction Factors for Functionally Graded Plates [PDF]

open access: yesMechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures, 2007
The Reissner-Mindlin plate model for calculation of functionally graded materials has been proposed in literature by using shear correction coefficient of homogeneous model. However, this use is a priori not appropriate for the gradient material. Identification of the transverse shear factors is thus investigated in this paper.

A Quasi-3D Refined Theory for the Vibration of Functionally Graded Plates Resting on Visco-Winkler-Pasternak Foundations

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
This article establishes the vibrational behavior of functionally graded plates embedded in a viscoelastic medium. The quasi-3D elasticity equations are used for this purpose.

High-Precision Isogeometric Static Bending Analysis of Functionally Graded Plates Using a New Quasi-3D Spectral Displacement Formulation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
A new quasi-three-dimensional (3D) shear deformation theory, called the spectral displacement formulation (SDF), is proposed for high-precision static bending analyses of functionally graded plates.

Natural frequency of F.G. rectangular plate by shear deformation theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Natural frequency of functionally graded (F.G.) rectangular plate is carried out by using second-order shear deformation theory (SSDT). The material properties of functionally graded rectangular plates, except the Poisson's ratio, are assumed to vary ...

Geometrical analysis of vibrations of functionally graded shell panels using the R-functions theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
An approach for investigation of geometrically nonlinear vibrations of functionally graded shallow shells and plates with complex planform is proposed. It combines the application of the R-functions theory (RFM), variational Ritz’s method, the procedure ...

A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory is developed for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates. The theory accounts for sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress, and satisfies the free transverse shear stress ...

Study on Harmonic Analysis of Functionally Graded Plates Using Fem

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2018
This paper presents the harmonic and vibration analysis of functionally graded plates using the finite element method. Initially, the plates are assumed isotropic and the material properties of it are assumed to vary continuously through their thickness ...

Buckling Analysis of Porous Functionally Graded Plates

open access: yesEngineering, Technology & Applied Science Research, 2023
This study investigated the buckling behavior of Porous Functionally Graded Material (PFGM) plates. The present model assumes unevenly distributed porosity along the plate thickness and the use of the novel hyperbolic shear deformation functions and hyperbolic tangent and secant thickness stretching functions. In the present work, a porous Functionally

Free vibration and buckling of bidirectional functionally graded sandwich plates using an efficient Q9 element

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2021
Free vibration and buckling of three-phase bidirectional functionally graded sandwich (BFGSW) plates are studied in this paper for the first time by using an efficient nine-node quadrilateral (Q9) element. The core of the sandwich plates is pure ceramic,

Parametric Study on Vibration and Harmonic Analysis of Moderately Thick Functionally Graded Plates Using FEM

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Finite element method is used to investigate the free vibration and harmonic analysis of functionally graded plates. The material properties of the plates are assumed to vary continuously through their thickness direction according to a power-law ...
