Adherence to Protocol Recommendations for Children With Wilms Tumour in Two Consecutive Studies in the United Kingdom and Ireland—Does Variation Matter?

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Wilms tumour (WT) has excellent event‐free and overall survival (OS). However, small differences exist between countries participating in the same international study. This led us to examine variation in adherence to protocol recommendations as a potential contributing factor.

Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Chromatic quasisymmetric functions

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce a quasisymmetric refinement of Stanley's chromatic symmetric function. We derive refinements of both Gasharov's Schur-basis expansion of the chromatic symmetric function and Chow's expansion in Gessel's basis of fundamental quasisymmetric ...

On the Function of Function

open access: yesMusic Theory Online, 1995
The concept of harmonic function, far from carrying a unitary and universally understood meaning, has signified many different things to theorists past and present. This essay examines some of the different meanings commonly associated with the term today, as well as aspects of the harmonic theories of Rameau, Weber, and ...

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Luteolin Alleviates the TNF-α-Induced Inflammatory Response of Human Microvascular Endothelial Cells via the Akt/MAPK/NF-κB Pathway

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation
Endothelial dysfunction and pathological alterations are pivotal in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease. To date, effective interventions for these endothelial changes are lacking.

Disjoint Borel Functions

open access: yes, 2017
For each $a \in \mathbb{R}$, we define a Borel function $f_a : \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}$ which encodes $a$ in a certain sense. We show that for each Borel $g : \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}$, $f_a \cap g = \emptyset$ implies $a \in \Delta^1_1(c)$ where $c ...

The summatory function of the Möbius function in function fields [PDF]

open access: yesActa Arithmetica, 2017
We study the growth rate of the summatory function of the Möbius function in the context of an algebraic curve over a finite field. Our work shows a strong resemblance to its number field counterpart, which was proved by Ng in 2004. We find an expression for a bound of the summatory function, which becomes sharp when the zeta zeros of the curve satisfy

Human RAD51 paralogue SWSAP1 fosters RAD51 filament by regulating the anti-recombinase FIGNL1 AAA+ ATPase

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
RAD51 assembly on single-stranded DNAs is an important step in the homology-dependent repair of DNA damage. Here authors reveal a role for the human RAD51 paralogue, SWSAP1, as a regulator of RAD51 assembly, by antagonizing RAD51 remodeller, FIGNL1 AAA +
