The fundamental parameters of the roAp star α Circini [PDF]
Abstract We have used the Sydney University Stellar Interferometer to measure the angular diameter of α Cir. This is the first detailed interferometric study of a rapidly oscillating A (roAp) star, α Cir being the brightest member of its class.

Nonlinear estimation of the fundamental matrix with minimal parameters [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is to give a very simple method for nonlinearly estimating the fundamental matrix using the minimum number of seven parameters. Instead of minimally parameterizing it, we rather update what we call its orthonormal representation, which is based on its singular value decomposition.

Population size and dynamics fundamentally shape speciation by influencing genetic drift, founder events, and adaptive potential. Small populations may speciate rapidly due to stronger drift, whereas large populations harbor more genetic diversity, which can alter divergence trajectories. We highlight theoretical models that incorporate population size

Fundamental parameters of eight Am stars: comparing observations with theory [PDF]
In this paper we present a detailed analysis of a sample of eight Am stars, four of them are in the Kepler field of view. We derive fundamental parameters for all observed stars, effective temperature, gravity, rotational and radial velocities, and ...

We present new BVRI light curves of UY UMa with no O’Connell effect and a flat bottom secondary eclipse. Light curve synthesis with the Wilson-Devinney code gives a new solution, which is quite different from the previous study: UY UMa is an A-subtype ...

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

Ultraviolet spectra were taken of 25 detached eclipsing binaries (DEBs) with spectral types O, B, and early A with the International Ultraviolet Explorer satellite in the 1150–1900 Å region. The spectra were compared with BOSZ model atmospheres.

Exposure to common noxious agents (1), including allergens, pollutants, and micro‐nanoplastics, can cause epithelial barrier damage (2) in our body's protective linings. This may trigger an immune response to our microbiome (3). The epithelial barrier theory explains how this process can lead to chronic noncommunicable diseases (4) affecting organs ...

Quantum Deformations of Conformal Algebras Introducing Fundamental Mass Parameters
We consider new class of classical r-matrices for D=3 and D=4 conformal Lie algebras. These r-matrices do satisfy the classical Yang-Baxter equation and as two-tensors belong to the tensor product of Borel subalgebra.

VLTI/AMBER observations of cold giant stars: atmospheric structures and fundamental parameters [PDF]
Aims. The main goal of this research is to determine the angular size and the atmospheric structures of cool giant stars (epsilon Oct, beta Peg, NU Pav, psi Peg, and gamma Hya) and to compare them with hydrostatic stellar model atmospheres, to estimate ...
