Spectral Analysis Via the Virtual Observatory: The Service Theossa
In the framework of the Virtual Observatory, the newly developed service TheoSSA provides access to theoretical stellar spectral energy distributions. In a pilot phase, this service is based on the well-established Tübingen NLTE Model-Atmosphere Package ...

Fundamental parameters of four massive eclipsing binaries in Westerlund 1 [PDF]
Context. Only a small number of high mass stars (> 30 M-circle dot) have fundamental parameters (i.e. masses and radii) measured with high enough accuracy from eclipsing binaries to constrain formation and evolutionary models of massive stars. Aims. This

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Wide Field Multicolor CCD Photometry of the Open Cluster NGC752
The results of CCD photometry in the seven-color Vilnius system of 3058 stars down to V ~ 18.0 mag in a 1.5 square degree field around the cluster NGC 752 are presented.

Fundamental stellar parameters
I present a discussion of fundamental stellar parameters and their observational determination in the context of interferometric measurements with current and future optical/infrared interferometric facilities. Stellar parameters and the importance of their determination for stellar physics are discussed.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Implications of the Intriguing Constant Inner Mass Surface Density Observed in Dark Matter Halos
It has long been known that the observed mass surface density of cored dark matter (DM) halos is approximately constant, independently of the galaxy mass (i.e., ρcrc≃constant, with ρc and rc being the central volume density and the radius of the core ...

Key Fundamental Factors and Long-run Price Changes in an Emerging Market-A Case Study of Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) [PDF]
Share prices are the most important indicator readily available to the investors for their decision to invest or not in a particular share. Theories suggest that share price changes are associated with changes in fundamental variables which are relevant ...
