On an initial-boundary value problem for a parabolic pseudodifferential equation

open access: yesМатематичні Студії
The article is aimed at investigation of a third initial-boundary value problem for a parabolic pseudo-differential equation that is related to an isotropic $\alpha$-stable stochastic process in multidimensional Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^d$.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

The fundamental solution for a consistent complex model of the shallow shell equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1999
The calculation of the Fourier transforms of the fundamental solution in shallow shell theory ostensibly was accomplished by J. L. Sanders [J. Appl. Mech. 37 (1970), 361-366].

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

EXPLICIT ESTIMATION OF AN INTEGRAL IN A DOMAIN BY THE MULTIPLE RECIPROCITY METHOD WITH THE USE OF INVERSE OPERATIONS

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2005
The paper presents two methods of solving the Poisson equation. One is based on the multiple reciprocity method. An analytical form of the basic solution obtained by means of inverse operation technique enabled assessing the method’s error. The other is

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

An examination of the fundamental solution and Green’s function in orthotropic photothermoelastic with diffusion under the MGT model

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica
The objective of this paper is to investigate the fundamental solution and Green’s function in a semi-infinite orthotropic photothermoelastic diffusion medium that is based on the Moore-Gibson-Thompson heat equation (MGTPWD).
