Diversification in the hedge fund industry
Journal of Corporate Finance, 2010Abstract We provide evidence of a significant relation between diversification and performance in the hedge fund industry. Measuring diversification across four distinct dimensions, we find a significant positive relation between hedge fund performance and diversification across sectors and asset classes.

Diversification Benefits of Funds of Hedge Funds
The Journal of Alternative Investments, 2007This article introduces a new analytic framework to assess the risk/return profile of hedge funds and funds of hedge funds. As alternatives to the traditional time-series mean and standard deviation, the cross-sectional average and dispersion of the terminal wealth accumulated from an investment in baskets of hedge funds are used here.
