Endophytic Fungi Natural Factories of Novel Bioactive Compounds
This review provides a systematic analysis of 242 natural products isolated from 42 genera of endophytic fungi, highlighting their remarkable structural diversity and broad spectrum of biological activities . ABSTRACT Endophytic fungi represent a prolific and chemically diverse source of novel specialized metabolites with significant pharmacological ...

Soil Microbial Assembly Mirrors a Savanna Mosaic Amid Plant Invasion and Soil Disturbance
Grasslands and woody patches supported distinct soil and microbial assemblages, consistent with differences in vegetation inputs and nutrient regimes. Grasslands exhibited relatively simple assembly patterns, with plant diversity closely associated with soil nutrients and comparatively homogeneous microbial communities.

Large-scale generation and analysis of filamentous fungal DNA barcodes boosts coverage for kingdom fungi and reveals thresholds for fungal species and higher taxon delimitation [PDF]
Species identification lies at the heart of biodiversity studies that has in recent years favoured DNA-based approaches. Microbial Biological Resource Centres are a rich source for diverse and high-quality reference materials in microbiology, and yet the

This study characterizes root endophytic fungal communities across three fairy ring types on the Tibetan Plateau, revealing that community assembly is driven by intra‐kingdom competition that leads to “Symbiotic Decoupling” and the suppression of native mutualists in fungal‐active zones.

Microbiome‐mediated plant‐soil feedbacks as a tool for resilient agriculture
Translating plant‐soil feedbacks (PSFs) into reliable agricultural management requires shifting from input‐dependent practices toward endogenous, process‐driven crop resilience. To bridge this gap, we propose a predictive framework centered on three strategic interventions: engineering the crop holobiont, diversifying the soil habitat, and deploying ...

The Brazilian Northeast shelters fragments of the Atlantic Forest that, although historically under‐sampled, are home to a high diversity of organisms. In this context, conidial fungi are crucial for ecological balance, standing out for their role in the decomposition of organic matter and nutrient cycling.

Microbiome‐mediated chemical communication in insects: Implications for pest management
Microbiome–semiochemical interactions involve the following processes: direct microbial synthesis, host gene regulation, precursor biotransformation, microbiome modulation and indirect ecological signaling. Abstract Insects rely on semiochemicals to regulate aggregation, mating, foraging, and host selection. This review synthesizes evidence that insect‐

Abstract Red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) is a globally important temperate forage legume. Its symbiosis with soil‐borne rhizobia enables nitrogen fixation, and its ability to produce quality forage under diverse soil conditions enhances pasture productivity, particularly during water deficits.
