Discovery and Biosynthesis of the Novel Glycotetrapeptide Antibiotic Biffamycin A
Genetic de‐regulation of a silent biosynthetic pathway allowed isolation and characterisation of a novel glycopeptide antibiotic named biffamycin A, which harbours unprecedented 5‐chloro‐4‐methoxy tryptophan and 3R‐hydroxy(α‐D‐mannoysl)‐D‐lysine moieties and is bioactive against MRSA and VRSA.

The antitumor activity of hydrophobin SC3, a fungal protein
The use of mushroom extracts has been common practice in traditional medicine for centuries, including the treatment of cancer. Proteins called hydrophobins are very abundant in mushrooms. Here, it was examined whether they have antitumor activity. Hydrophobin SC3 of Schizophyllum commune was injected daily intraperitoneally starting 1 day after tumor ...

Multi‐Targeting Carnosic Acid Kills Drug‐Resistant Helicobacter pylori With Narrow‐Spectrum Activity
Carnosic acid selectively eradicates drug‐resistant Helicobacter pylori through a multi‐targeted mechanism involving urease inhibition, membrane disruption, and biofilm eradication. It exhibits no detectable resistance, potent in vivo efficacy, and minimal impact on gut microbiota, positioning it as a promising narrow‐spectrum lead compound against ...
