Evolutionary trajectories of multiple defense traits across phylogenetic and geographic scales in Vitis

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
The processes driving defense trait correlations may vary within and between species based on ecological or environmental contexts. However, most studies of plant defense theory fail to address this potential for shifts in trait correlations across scales.

Think highly of immunoglobulin G4‐related chronic rhinosinusitis as a clinical entity in immunoglobulin G4‐related disease

open access: yesEye &ENT Research, EarlyView.
Abstract IgG4‐related chronic rhinosinusitis (IgG4‐related CRS) is gaining recognition among various specialized physicians. As a systemic disease involving multiple organs, IgG4‐related CRS is still not widely recognized as an independent clinical entity. Given the complexity of diagnosing autoimmune‐related multisystem diseases, early recognition and

Synthesis, Characterization, and Antimicrobial Activity of Copper(II) Complexes Containing Ligands Derived from Azoles and Coumarins

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Copper(II) complexes synthesized with coumarin‐derived ligands are tested against various strains, including C. albicans and C. tropicalis. Upon penetration into the fungal cell, these complexes induce oxidative distress and generate free radicals, leading to protein and DNA damage causing cell apoptosis.

Towards the Synthesis of 3,3‐Difluoro Deaminated Sialic Acid (C3DFKDN)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
2‐Keto‐3‐deoxy‐d‐glycero‐d‐galacto‐nononic acid (KDN) is a nine‐carbon monosaccharide of the sialic acid family. As a deaminated analogue of N‐acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac), KDN features a hydroxyl group at C5 instead of an amine. Although present at low levels in mammalian tissues, KDN is abundant in certain tumor cells and pathogens, making it and ...

Cytotoxicity of 19 Pesticides in Rainbow Trout Gill, Liver, and Intestinal Cell Lines

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract The rainbow trout gill cell line (RTgill‐W1), via test guideline 249 of the Organisation for Economic Co‐operation and Development, has been established as a promising New Approach Methodology, although to advance confidence in the method more case studies are needed that: 1) expand our understanding of applicability domains (chemicals with ...
