Fungicidal activity of cecropin A

Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 1997
Cecropin A (CA) fungicidal properties were explored. Nongerminated and germinated Aspergillus spp. and Fusarium spp. conidia were treated with CA. CA achieved complete lethality at < or = 25 microM (99 micrograms/ml) for germinating, but not nongerminating, conidia of Aspergillus spp.

A Bacterium with Fungicidal Activity

Nature, 1959
IN a recent communication, Percival and Thornton1 referred to the relationship between fungal spores and a test for hepatotoxic grass. It has since been shown that the fungus is Sporidesmium bakeri Syd. and is the source of the hepatotoxin which causes the specific liver damage which occurs in the disease known as ‘facial eczema’.

Fungicidal Activity of Microbicides

2012
Fungi, also well known as moulds, yeasts and mushrooms, are a diverse group of eukaryotic organisms which belonging to the "fifth kingdom". TheyFungi are ubiquitous in nature with microorganisms and display an extraordinary ability to decompose wastes while also causing much spoilage of food.

Investigations of the Fungicidal Activity of Haloprogin

Mycoses, 2009
Summary Haloprogin (2,4,5-trichlorophenyl-γ-iodopropargyl ether), a broad spectrum antimycotic, was investigated for its capacity to kill resting cells (micro- or macroconidia) of dermatophytes. The experimental conditions were such that a direct lethal action upon the spores could be detected.

FUNGICIDAL ACTIVITY OF DIPHENYLPYRALINE

Archives of Dermatology, 1953
The antihistaminic compound Diphenylpyraline (1-methyl-piperidyll-4 benzhydryl ether) has been reported to have marked in vitro antifungal activity against many of the common strains causing inflammatory changes in the human skin. Carson and Campbell 1 reported that this drug showed marked activity in vitro against Trichophyton rubrum, Microsporum ...

Fungicidal activity of β‐thujaplicin analogues

Pest Management Science, 2001
AbstractThe fungicidal activity of analogues of β‐thujaplicin, a natural product responsible for the durability of heartwood of several cupressaceous trees, was investigated in vitro on the growth of different white and brown rot fungi involved in wood biodegradation, Coriolus versicolor, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Poria placenta and Gloephyllum ...

INVESTIGATIONS ON FUNGICIDES. I. FUNGICIDAL AND SYSTEMIC FUNGICIDAL ACTIVITY IN CERTAIN ARYLOXYALKANECARBOXYLIC ACIDS

Annals of Applied Biology, 1955
Fifty‐four aryloxyalkanecarboxylic acids have been examined as systemic fungicides. Of these, four which produced negligible damage in broad‐bean seedlings yet conferred systemic fungicidal protection to broad beans against Botrytis fabae and to tomatoes against Alternaria solanixvere studied in detail.

Search for organic fungicides : Chemical constitution and fungicidal activity

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1952
AbstractThe synthesis of a number of compounds likely to possess fungicidal activity has been described by the authors in the earlier papers of this series (Sen & Joshi, 1948, 1949, 1951a, b). This paper incorporates the results of an investigation of the fungicidal action of 55 of those compounds on the fungus Aspergillus niger employing the agar ...

The biochemical activity of soil contaminated with fungicides

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 2019
Excess fungicides can pose a serious threat to the soil environment. Fungicides can lower the microbiological and biochemical activity of soil and lead to yield declines. Soils contaminated with fungicides have to be remediated to maintain the optimal function of soil ecosystems.

Synthesis and Fungicidal Activity of Alicyclic Diamines

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1996
As part of an ongoing program of work on polyamine analogues, a number of alicyclic diamines were synthesized and examined for fungicidal activity. The alicyclic diamine 1,2-bis(aminomethyl)-4,5-dimethylcyclohexa-1,4-diene (BAD), synthesized as the dihydrochloride salt, controlled the important crop pathogen Erysiphe graminis f.sp hordei.
