New poly(pentylene furanoate) and poly(heptylene furanoate) sustainable polyesters from diols with odd methylene groups

Materials Letters, 2016
Abstract In the current manuscript two new furan based polyesters, namely poly(pentylene furanoate) (PPeF) and poly(heptylene furanoate) (PHepF), have been synthesized for the first time using 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (2,5-FDCA) and aliphatic diols with odd number of methylene groups (5 and 7 respectively) via melt polycondensation method.
