Hydrogenolysis of Furfuryl Alcohol to 1,2‐Pentanediol Over Supported Ruthenium Catalysts [PDF]
Hydrogenolysis of the furan rings of furfural and furfuryl alcohol, which can be obtained from biomass, has attracted attention as a method for obtaining valuable chemicals such as 1,2‐pentanediol.

Refining Surface Copper Species on Cu/SiO2 Catalysts to Boost Furfural Hydrogenation to Furfuryl Alcohol [PDF]
Controllable hydrogenation of carbonyl groups (C=O) is crucial for converting furfural into high-value furfuryl alcohol. Instead of traditional impregnation method, a novel Cu-based catalyst (Cu/SiO2) is prepared using the ammonia evaporation method (AE)

Poly(furfuryl alcohol)-Polycaprolactone Blends. [PDF]
Poly(furfuryl alcohol) (PFA) is a bioresin synthesized from furfuryl alcohol (FA) that is derived from renewable saccharide-rich biomass. In this study, we compounded this bioresin with polycaprolactone (PCL) for the first time, introducing new functional polymer blends.

The Distribution of Furfuryl Alcohol (FA) Resin in Bamboo Materials after Surface Furfurylation. [PDF]
In this study, bamboo was treated with an optimized surface furfurylation process. With this process, dimensionally stable and highly biologically durable bamboo material could be prepared without mechanical reduction. The anti-swelling efficiency (ASE) could reach 50% with a low weight percent gain (WPG about 13%).

Highly active Cu-MFI catalyst for conversion of furfuryl alcohol to pentanediols [PDF]
It is of great significance to use biomass-based furfuryl alcohol to produce oxygenated chemicals to replace petroleum-based chemicals. In this paper, a series of bifunctional Cu-MFI catalysts were developed, and the properties of biomass-based furfuryl ...
