Effect of Calcination Rate on Performance of Co-precipitated Cu-MgO Catalyst in Hydrogenation of Furfural [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2019
Co-precipitated Cu-MgO catalysts were prepared and evaluated for the gas-phase hydrogenation of furfural. The effect of heating rate at the calcination step was studied by comparing the performance of three catalysts prepared via the same procedure but ...

Sulfur Hydrogen Bonding in Isolated Monohydrates: Furfuryl Mercaptan versus Furfuryl Alcohol

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, 2018
AbstractThe hydrogen bonds involving sulfur in the furfuryl mercaptan monohydrate are compared with the interactions originating from the hydroxyl group in furfuryl alcohol. The dimers with water were created in a supersonic jet expansion and characterized using microwave spectroscopy and supporting molecular orbital calculations.

Directed Hole Localization Stabilizing Interfacial Sulfur Species to Boost α‐C–H Activation for Selective Biomass Photo‐oxidation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Efficient α‐C–H bond activation and directional conversion for selective biomass photo‐oxidation are achieved by integrating polarization and interface engineering strategies in P‐doped ZnIn2S4 polar photocatalysts, which leverage hole localization and stable interfacial sulfur species, endowing bio‐based HMF at 94.4% conversion with 94.5% selectivity ...

Natural Anthraquinone‐Like Compound Extracted from Green Husk of Walnut Improves Photocatalytic H2O2 Production Catalyzed by TiO2 Nanoparticles

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
In this work, a novel biomolecule/semiconductor hybrid catalyst was prepared by loading anthraquinone‐liked juglone onto anatase TiO2. This catalyst exhibited high photocatalytic activity for H2O2 production. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a vital oxidant with broad industrial applications, and its production via photocatalysis represents a highly ...
