Multiplex Detection of Fusarium Species

2016
Multiplex PCR is a powerful method to detect, identify, and quantify the mycotoxigenic fungus by targeting the amplification of genes associated with mycotoxin production and detection, identification, and quantification of Fusarium species. As compared with uniplex PCR, it has several advantages such as low cost, shortened time, and simultaneous ...

Beauvericin Production by Fusarium Species

Applied and Environmental Microbiology, 1998
ABSTRACT Beauvericin is a cyclohexadepsipeptide mycotoxin which has insecticidal properties and which can induce apoptosis in mammalian cells. Beauvericin is produced by some entomo- and phytopathogenic Fusarium species ( Fusarium proliferatum , F. semitectum

Fusarium Species Causing Fusarium Yellows of Sugarbeet

Journal of Sugarbeet Research, 2004
Species of Fusarium isolated from sugarbeet with Fusarium yellows symptoms from throughout the Western U.S.A. in 2001 were examined for pathogenicity on sugar beet in greenhouse tests. Thirteen pathogenic isolates were obtained, of whlch the majority (69%) were F.

AFLP analysis of Fusarium species in the section Sporotrichiella—evidence for Fusarium langsethiae as a new species

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2004
Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) was applied to compare 100 isolates of Fusarium poae, Fusarium sporotrichioides, and Fusarium langsethiae. Comparison of fingerprints revealed several markers specific for each group of isolates. Cluster analysis showed a clear separation of F. poae from F. sporotrichioides and F. langsethiae.

Isolation of Mitochondria from Fusarium Species

2021
Isolation of purified mitochondria is an essential technique for the analysis of metabolic and cellular functions associated with this vital organelle. Filamentous fungi, such as Neurospora crassa, have been proven to be highly amenable to the analysis of mitochondria, in part due to their rapid growth rate and relative ease of isolation.

Production of chitinase by Fusarium species

Current Microbiology, 1995
The presence of chitinase activity without inducers in the enzymic precipitates from the culture fluid of 25-day-old autolyzed cultures of 17 Fusarium species has been studied. In all cases endochitinase and beta-N-acetylglucosaminidase activities were found.

Lipid constituents of some Fusarium species

Archiv fr Mikrobiologie, 1968
The lipid constituents of Fusarium aquaeductuum Lagerh., F. aquaeductuum Lagerh. var. medium and F. sambucinum Fuck. have been studied. In the mycelia of these three fungi γ-carotene, lycopene and rhodoxanthin were present. Ergosterol was also present and the fatty acid pattern showed a slight qualitative difference between the three fungi.

Occurrence of the mycotoxin chlamydosporol in Fusarium species

Toxicon, 1992
The mycotoxin chlamydosporol (C11H14O5) has been independently isolated from three different Fusarium species (F. chlamydosporum, F. acuminatum and F. culmorum), suggesting that its distribution may be widespread. We have developed a sensitive, specific fluorometric assay for chlamydosporol that allows quantitation in crude culture extracts. Using this

Identification of Fusarium species by isozyme analysis

Acta Microbiologica et Immunologica Hungarica, 2002
Cellulose-acetate electrophoresis (CAE) was used to investigate isozyme polymorphisms among different isolates of Fusarium cerealis, F. culmorum, F. graminearum and F. pseudograminearum. After initial testing of 18 enzymes in three buffer systems for activity and resolution of bands, 12 proved to be appropriate for analysis of the full sample set ...
