Comparison of Biportal Endoscopic Technique and Conventional Unilateral Laminectomy for Bilateral Decompression (ULBD) for Multi‐Level Degenerative Lumbar Spinal Stenosis in Elderly People

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
The red line on the left and the blue line on the right represent the surgical field of view for BE‐ULBD and ULBD surgeries, respectively. It can be seen that BE‐ULBD significantly enhances the surgical field of view and makes it easier to expose the contralateral nerve root.

Bone Cement Augmentation for Cervical Vertebrae‐Ossification of the Posterior Longitudinal Ligament Complex Contributes to Anterior Controllable Antedisplacement and Fusion in Patients With Osteoporosis

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Anterior controllable antedisplacement and fusion (ACAF) is an effective strategy in treating cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (C‐OPLL). The controllable antedisplacement of vertebrae‐OPLL complex (VOC) through screws is both the most critical and technically challenging procedure.

Internal fixation of a fractured cranial articular process of the sixth cervical vertebra by means of computer‐assisted surgery in a Warmblood gelding

open access: yesVeterinary Surgery, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives To describe the repair of a fractured cranial articular process (AP) of the sixth cervical vertebra (C6) with cortex screws placed in lag fashion using computer‐assisted surgery. Animal A 12‐year‐old Swiss Warmblood gelding. Study design Case report. Methods The gelding was presented with neck pain and ataxia after a fall.

Molecular pathophysiology of chronic kidney disease–mineral and bone disorder: Focus on the fibroblast growth factor 23–Klotho axis and bone turnover dynamics

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Chronic kidney disease–mineral and bone disorder (CKD‐MBD) is a major complication of chronic kidney disease (CKD), characterized by disruptions in mineral metabolism, abnormal bone turnover and vascular calcification, which collectively increase the risk of fractures and cardiovascular disease.
