Discovery of fusidic acid derivatives as novel STING inhibitors for treatment of sepsis.

European journal of medicinal chemistry, 2022
Sepsis is often caused by systemic inflammatory responses. Stimulator of interferon genes (STING) could be a promising treatment target for sepsis. In this study, we report the design and synthesis of a new series of fusidic acid derivatives.

Fusidic acid derivatives from the endophytic fungus Acremonium pilosum F47

Journal of Asian natural products research, 2021
Fusidic acid, a representative member of fungal fusidane triterpenoids, has been clinically used as an antibiotic. In the present study, fusidic acid (1), and its known analogs 16-desacetylfusidic acid (2) and 3β,20-dihydroxy-protosta-16,24-dien-29-oic ...

Fusidic Acid (Sodium Fusidate)

1978
This steroid antibiotic derived from Fusidium coccineum fungus is chemically related to cephalosporin P1. The acid forms colourless crystals which are sparingly soluble in water compared with the sodium salt, sodium fusidate, which is highly water soluble.

Structure-activity relationship analyses of fusidic acid derivatives highlight crucial role of the C-21 carboxylic acid moiety to its anti-mycobacterial activity.

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2020
Fusidic acid (FA) is a potent congener of the fusidane triterpenoid class of antibiotics. Structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies suggest the chemical structure of FA is optimal for its antibacterial activity.
