Implementation of Simulated Annealing-Support Vector Machine on QSAR Study of Fusidic Acid Derivatives as Anti-Malarial Agent

2020 6th International Conference on Interactive Digital Media (ICIDM), 2020
Malaria is a disease caused by the Plasmodium falciparum parasite and leads to many cases of deaths. Recently, the combination of several drugs has been used to treat this disease. However, the parasite is known to be resistant to the anti-malarial agent.

Resistance to fusidic acid

International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents, 1999
Resistance to fusidic acid is determined by a number of mechanisms. The best described are alterations in elongation factor G, which appear in natural mutants that are harboured at low rates in normal populations of staphylococci (10(6) to 10(8)). Altered drug permeability has also been described, and appears to be plasmid-borne.
