The starting point of this work is the observation that the Curry-Howard isomorphism, relating types and propositions, programs and proofs, composition and cut, extends to the correspondence of program fusion and cut elimination. This simple idea suggests logical interpretations of some of the basic methods of generic and transformational programming ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Discrete Graphical Models for Alphabet-Based Multisensory Data Fusion and Classification [PDF]
The way of multisensory data integration is a crucial step of any data fusion method. Different physical types of sensors (optic, thermal, acoustic, radar, etc.), different resolution, and different types of GIS digital data (elevation, vector maps, etc.

Radar Target Recognition Based on Feature Pyramid Fusion Lightweight CNN
In order to improve the accuracy and robustness of radar target recognition under low SNR conditions, a novel radar high range resolution profile (HRRP) target recognition method based on feature pyramid fusion lightweight CNN is proposed in this paper ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Inhibition of Akt activity and calcium channel function coordinately drive cell-cell fusion in the BeWO choriocarcinoma placental cell line [PDF]
To establish a simple and quantitative live cell fusion assay for placental syncytialization, we generated stable GFP and dsRed expressing fusogenic BeWo cell lines.

Fusion of biological membranes is governed by physical principles but it is unclear whether the transition states are primarily determined by lipid physics or by protein-lipid interactions. Recent advances in the field include the physical description of bilayer fusion, particularly new models beyond continuum models and the role of the SNARE proteins.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
