Camera-Integrable Wide-Bandwidth Antenna for Capsule Endoscope

open access: yesSensors, 2019
This paper presents a new antenna design for a capsule endoscope. The proposed antenna comprises a camera hole and meandered line. These features enable the antenna to be integrated on the same side as the camera, within the capsule endoscope.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Control of transfer and weak closure in fusion systems. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We show that $\K_\infty$ and $\K^\infty$ control transfer in every fusion system on a finite $p$-group when $p \geq 5$, and that they control weak closure of elements in every fusion system on a finite $p$-group when $p \geq 3$.

Rocket models for double-shell capsules at 100 kJ laser facility

open access: yesAAPPS Bulletin
Indirect-drive double-shell implosions have been performed at 100 kJ laser facility in China. The system of differential equations for the unablated mass, the average implosion velocity, and the ablation front radius of an outer shell within an indirect ...

Near-space hypersonic target coherent integration algorithm based on search compensation

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
A near-space hypersonic target coherent integration algorithm based on search compensation is proposed for the problem of range gate stride and Doppler extension. The algorithm first estimates the target radial velocity and Doppler rate by searching, and

Fusion peptides and the mechanism of viral fusion

open access: yesBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 2003
Segments of viral fusion proteins play an important role in viral fusion. They are defined by a number of criteria, including the sensitivity of this region of the viral fusion protein to loss of function as a consequence of mutation. In addition, small model peptides designed to mimic this segment of viral fusion proteins often have some membrane ...

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
