Fusion of biometric algorithms in the recognition problem

Pattern Recognition Letters, 2005
This note concerns the mathematical aspects of fusion for several biometric algorithms in the recognition or identification problem. It is assumed that a biometric signature is presented to a system which compares it with a database of signatures of known individuals (gallery).

FLIER: A Novel Sensor Fusion Algorithm

2008 IEEE Region 10 and the Third international Conference on Industrial and Information Systems, 2008
This paper proposes a novel sensor fusion algorithm to obtain instantaneous position and attitude estimates, which can either be used for aerial navigation or can be utilized to construct state feedbacks for camera stabilization. A divergence control strategy has also been formulated and the algorithm was embedded in real-time hardware.

An Efficient Fusion Algorithm on Conflicting Evidence

2009 Eighth IEEE/ACIS International Conference on Computer and Information Science, 2009
DSmT would resolve the issue of evidence portfolios when the high conflict of evidences appeared. But the computation oversized more easily because more focus elements were additional in the DSmT rules. And the fusion result was worse than that of DST when the low conflict situation was occurred.

Effective Algorithms for Fusion Gene Detection

2010
Chromosomal rearrangements which shape the genomes of cancer cells often result in fusion genes. Several recent studies have proposed using oligo microarrays targeting fusion junctions to detect fusion genes present in a sample. These approaches design a microarray targeted to discover known fusion genes by using a probe for each possible fusion ...

Novel Cooperative Neural Fusion Algorithms for Image Restoration and Image Fusion

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2007
To deal with the problem of restoring degraded images with non-Gaussian noise, this paper proposes a novel cooperative neural fusion regularization (CNFR) algorithm for image restoration. Compared with conventional regularization algorithms for image restoration, the proposed CNFR algorithm can relax need of the optimal regularization parameter to be ...

The Distributed Wavelet-Based Fusion Algorithm

2004
This paper describes a distributed algorithm for use in the analysis of the multi-spectral satellite images. The algorithm combines the spatial-frequency wavelet transform and the maximum selection fusion algorithm. It fuses a multi-spectral image set into a single high quality achromatic image that suits the human visual system. The algorithm operates

An orientation-based fusion algorithm for multisensor image fusion

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
Multiscale fusion algorithms (wavelet or pyramid) can generally satisfy multisensory image fusion. However, those algorithms are not ideal to fuse visible images and infrared images whose intensities appear inverted. Therefore, a novel orientation-based fusion algorithm is proposed in this paper to address this problem.

Non-algorithmic information fusion

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
This paper considers the applicability of algorithms, constraint solving and active structure across the spectrum of complexity of information fusion applications. Information fusion is recast as a cognitive application using dynamic structure building and constraint reasoning.

A Novel Image Fusion Algorithm

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Based on the wavelet transform, this study introduced the theory of the compressed sensing algorithm. Then proposed a wavelet transform based compressed sensing algorithm by the better sparse representation ability of the wavelet transform on the image. Finally, this algorithm was compared with the DCT and wavelet transform algorithm.
