Gravitational Intelligent Decision-Making Model at the Fuzzy Front End with Extrinsic Idea Integration by the K-Means Algorithm

open access: yesSystems, 2022
If the dynamic fuzziness of the Front End (FE) part of New Product Development (NPD) cannot be treated in a timely manner, fuzziness accumulates over other parts of NPD hence NPD can result in costly mistakes.

On the Semantics of Bipolarity and Fuzziness

open access: yes, 2011
This paper analyzes the relationship between fuzziness and bipolarity, notions which were devised to address different kinds of uncertainty: linguistic imprecision, in the former, and knowledge relevance and character or polarity, in the latter. Although

Rough-Fuzzy Clustering Based on Two-Stage Three-Way Approximations

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
A general framework of rough-fuzzy clustering based on two-stage three-way approximations is presented in this paper. The proposed framework can deal with the uncertainties caused by the membership degree distributions of patterns.

Dialetheism and Metaphor

open access: yesStudies in Logic, Grammar and Rhetoric, 2020
In the paper two seemingly distinct areas of philosophical investigations are brought together: metaphor and dialetheism. They both turn out to be deeply related, which becomes visible against a background, i.e.

Fuzzy clustering of fuzzy systems [PDF]

open access: yes2004 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37583), 2005
A fuzzy system entirely characterizes one region of the input-output product space S = U /spl times/ V through a relation expressed by a set of fuzzy rules. Effectively, the fuzzy system establishes a fuzzy map, which assigns for each input fuzzy set in U an output fuzzy set in V.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

La métaphore « inappropriée » : échec du partage sentimental et flou résultatif

open access: yesLexis: Journal in English Lexicology, 2010
Metaphors, unlike comparisons, may be perceived as impolite speech acts. This study explains why: I define metaphor as a linguistic utterance in which the speaker appropriates language, such an appropriation taking the risk of being considered as ...
