FUZZY ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS WITH TYPE-2 FUZZY SETS

open access: yes, 2012
The membership functions of type-1 fuzzy sets have no uncertainty associated with it. While excessive arithmetic operations are needed with type-2 fuzzy sets with respect to type-1’s, type-2 fuzzy sets generalize type-1 fuzzy sets and systems so that more uncertainty for defining membership functions can be handled.

Selection of wastewater treatment process based on the analytical hierarchy process and fuzzy analytical hierarchy process methods [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Science & Technology, 2011
This paper presents an application of the analytical hierarchy process and fuzzy analytical hierarchy process methods for selecting the best wastewater treatment process. The analytical hierarchy process is one of the best ways for deciding among the complex criteria structure in different levels, and the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process is a ...

A Quest for the Mechanism of Ultrahigh Resolution SEM Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using Monte Carlo simulations with explicit definitions of SE1 and SE2 align with a cascade secondary electron production model, this work shows that the 3D nanostructure modulated SE2 emission enhances other than to reduce topographical contrast via a “miniature Faraday cup” effect.

Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum for Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum (SHWB), a rotation‐ and translation‐invariant descriptor that captures higher‐order (phase) correlations in signals, is introduced. Combining wavelet scattering, bispectral analysis, and group theory, SHWB achieves interpretable, data‐efficient representations and demonstrates competitive performance across texture,

SAGE: Spatially Aware Gene Selection and Dual‐View Embedding Fusion for Domain Identification in Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SAGE is a unified framework for spatial domain identification in spatial transcriptomics that jointly models tissue architecture and gene programs. Topic‐driven gene selection (NMF plus classifier‐based scoring) highlights spatially informative genes, while dual‐view graph embedding fuses local expression and non‐local functional relations.

Effects of fabric counts and weave designs on the properties of laminated woven kenaf carbon fibre reinforced epoxy hybrid composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The effects of different fabric materials namely weave designs (plain and satin) and fabric counts (5 × 5 and 6 × 6) on the properties of laminated woven kenaf/carbon fibre reinforced epoxy hybrid composites were evaluated.

Genetic Control of Tissue Remodeling by a Non‐Coding SNP in ITGA8 Explains Carotenoid‐Based Color Polymorphism in Marine Mollusks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the orange‐muscle giant abalone (Haliotis gigantea) is used as a model to identify a non‐coding SNP that disrupts the interaction between ITGA8 pre‐mRNA and the splicing factor ILF2, leading to altered ITGA8 splicing. These splicing changes promote carotenoid accumulation in abalone muscle through the regulation of tissue remodeling ...
