Image segmentation by fuzzy rule and Kohonen-constraint satisfaction fuzzy C-mean

Proceedings of ICICS, 1997 International Conference on Information, Communications and Signal Processing. Theme: Trends in Information Systems Engineering and Wireless Multimedia Communications (Cat. No.97TH8237), 2002
We present a new algorithm that can segment fuzzy data. This method is based on fuzzy logic and neural network, and the concept of the constraint satisfaction problem (CSP). Firstly, pre-processing by creating a new pixel value based on the fuzzy rule has the ability to describe the effect of the neighborhood pixel on the degree of membership value or ...

A New Axiomatic Framework for Prioritized Fuzzy Constraint Satisfaction Problems

2000
The paper introduces an axiomatic framework for prioritized fuzzy constraint satisfaction problems (PFCSPs), in which the notion of global satisfaction degree is based on three intuitive axioms. First, if a constraint with the highest priority in a PFCSP is completely violated by a variable assignment, the variable assignment cannot be a solution to ...

On solving fuzzy constraint satisfaction problems with genetic algorithms

1998 IEEE International Conference on Evolutionary Computation Proceedings. IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (Cat. No.98TH8360), 2002
An attempt to solve fuzzy constraint satisfaction problems (FCSPs) with the use of genetic algorithms (GAs) is presented in the paper. A fuzzy relation that represents the degrees of satisfaction of fuzzy constraints in a given FCSP is considered as an objective function of the respective unconstrained optimization problem.

Fuzzy constraint satisfaction approach for landmark recognition in mobile robotics

AI Commun., 2006
Summary: This work deals with landmark recognition in mobile robotics, using a new model based on Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSP): the Multivariable Fuzzy Temporal Profile model (MFTP). A representation supported by CSPs makes it possible to capture a morphological description of the patterns that landmarks give rise to on sensor readings.

Flexible Widget Layout Formulated as Fuzzy Constraint Satisfaction Problem

2009
We show an improvement of our previous work, a formulation of the flexible widget layout (FWL) problem as a fuzzy constraint satisfaction problem (FCSP) and a method for solving it. The automation of widget layout is one of the most important challenges for the generation of graphical user interfaces (GUIs).

A formal framework for weak constraint satisfaction based on fuzzy sets

Proceedings of ANZIIS '94 - Australian New Zealnd Intelligent Information Systems Conference, 2002
Recent work in the field of artificial intelligence has shown that many problems can be represented as a set of constraints on a set of variables, i.e., as a constraint satisfaction problem. Unfortunately, real world problems tend to be inconsistent, and therefore the corresponding constraint satisfaction problems do not have solutions.
