Clustering Fuzzy Data Using the Fuzzy EM Algorithm
2010In this article, we address the problem of clustering imprecise data using finite mixtures of Gaussians. We propose to estimate the parameters of the mixture model using the fuzzy EM algorithm. This extension of the EM algorithm allows us to handle imprecise data represented by fuzzy numbers.

Fuzzy Prototypes for Fuzzy Data Mining
2000This paper shows a summarization method. We focus on the construction of fuzzy prototypes by means of typical values. For this purpose, we use a formal framework of measures of comparison of values of attributes of data for the management of fuzzy databases especially for data mining.

The wording “datum” means, literally, “something actually given”. It expresses that “something” was found in a state characterized by just this datum. Obviously, such a datum contains information only if there are at least two different possibilities for the state of the “something” in question.

Fuzzy presentation of medical data
Proceedings 14th IEEE Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems. CBMS 2001, 2002While the interpretation of medical data is very often an ambiguous process, computers usually display the results of recommendations provided by both human experts and computer algorithms as concrete data. This study proposes a visual presentation of relative degrees of uncertainty as well as "standard" concrete medical data. A medical parameter (mean

In this article we apply fuzzy bspline reconstruction supplemented by fuzzy kriging to the problem of constructing a smooth deterministic model for environmental pollution data. A method to interrogate the model will also be discussed and applied.

Fuzzy Clustering of Ecological Data
1991Ordination and classification have always been important stages in ecological data analysis. This paper presents a clustering technique based on fuzzy sets to obtain both ordination and classification particularly well suited for ecological analyses.

The fuzzy integral for missing data
2017 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE), 2017Numerous applications in engineering are plagued by incomplete data. The subject explored in this article is how to extend the fuzzy integral (FI), a parametric nonlinear aggregation function, to missing data. We show there is no universally correct solution.
