Hough and Fuzzy Hough Transform in Music Tunes Recognition Systems

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents a method of music tunes recognition based on the Hough transform as well as its fuzzy version. One can also find here experimental results showing the effectiveness of the presented solutions. Perspectives of further work and quality improvements are also stated as a base for subsequent research.

Boundary Recognition of an Aperture Based on Fuzzy Fast Hough Transform

Guangzi Xuebao/Acta Photonica Sinica, 2010
A new fuzzy fast Hough transform is proposed to detect the circular boundary of Labyrinth disc aperture in an aeroengine. In the new algorithm, the circle detection problem is decomposed into two stages consisting of a 2D Hough transform to find circle centre and a 1D Hough transform to determine the radius. The 2D Hough transform performs a hierarchical ...

Reconstruct street network from imprecise excavation data using fuzzy Hough transforms

open access: yesGeoInformatica, 2013
This paper proposes an approach for handling multivariate data in an archaeological Geographical Information System (GIS), providing a new tool to archaeologists and historians. Our method extracts potential objects of known shapes in a geographical database (GDB) devoted to archaeological excavations.

Fuzzy generalized hough transform invariant to rotation and scale in noisy environment

2009 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, 2009
Generalized Hough Transform (GHT) is an efficient method for detecting curves by exploiting the duality between points on a curve and parameters of that curve. However GHT has some practical limitations such as high computational cost and huge memory requirement for detecting scaled and rotated objects.

A FUZZY HOUGH TRANSFORM APPROACH TO SHAPE DESCRIPTION

International Journal of Image and Graphics, 2002
To use the Hough transform to detect shapes we need to accumulate votes for the edge passing a specific bin. Most existing Hough transform techniques use a sharp (crisp) cutoff to determine whether the bin has received a vote or not. This results in considerable errors.

The fuzzy Hough transform-feature extraction in medical images

IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, 1994
Identification of anatomical features is a necessary step for medical image analysis. Automatic methods for feature identification using conventional pattern recognition techniques typically classify an object as a member of a predefined class of objects, but do not attempt to recover the exact or approximate shape of that object. For this reason, such

Introducing the select and split fuzzy cell Hough transform

Proceedings of 13th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 1996
In this paper a new variation of Hough transform is proposed. The parameter space of Hough transform is recursively roughly split into fuzzy cells which are defined as fuzzy numbers. This fuzzy partition of the parameter space provides the advantage to use the uncertainty of the contour points location, which is increased when noisy images have to be ...

A novel fuzzy Hough transform for shape representation

1998 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems Proceedings. IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (Cat. No.98CH36228), 2002
Three techniques of straight line Hough transform are proposed by a generalised mathematical formulation of the Hough transform in terms of aggregation and weight functions. Amongst these techniques, inclusive of the conventional Hough transform, it is shown by experimental results on a set of 3D nonparametric objects, and in a controlled and inherent ...

Implementation of autonomous vehicles with the hough transform and fuzzy control

SICE Annual Conference 2007, 2007
An automatic driving system for a golf car is developed and tested in the campus. The system utilizes a single vision sensor CCD and adopts the road-model-matching method to obtain the lane marks by applying the Hough transform method. Compared with the inverse perspective mapping (IPM) method of which is affected greatly by the position, yaw and tilt ...

Effective Detection of Nucleus in Cytodiagnosis by Employing Combinatorial Fuzzy Hough Transform

Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 1997
Hough transform is an effective method for line detection in a digital image. However, the conventional Hough transform can not be applied well enough for an image corrupted by heavy noise. This paper describes a combinatorial fuzzy Hough transform, which enables a detection of not only a blurred line, but also a segment of a line in a very noisy image.
