Separation of linguistic information methodology in a fuzzy model

Linguistic models and fuzzy truths

In this paper the linguistic value of truth is used to derive a procedure for validation of models. The procedure uses fuzzy set theory to obtain the compatibility between observed data and model generated data. Of significance is the fact that the data can be in linguistic form.

Linguistic data mining and fuzzy modelling

The study is devoted to the concept of data mining formulated in the setting of fuzzy sets. It is shown that the essence of revealing relationships within the data sets lies in context dependent search being formulated by the user. Some crucial links between data mining and fuzzy modelling are identified. Numerical experiments are also provided.

A new approach to rejecting measurable disturbances in multistage continuous manufacturing processes is presented. This approach, called fuzzy linguistic model-based compensation, is empirically shown to be effective, in comparison with ordinary feedback, in predicting the influence of the disturbance and countering its effect.

Top-Down Approach for a Linguistic Fuzzy Logic Model

A top-down approach is introduced for processing nonlinear linguistic fuzzy logic within the Mamdani model itself in order to reduce the computational efforts. The top-down approach is composed of three steps: 1 directly obtain the best set of linguistic terms, 2 find the matching rule antecedents and their output values, and 3 visit the neighbor terms.
