Fuzzy logic control

2000
The fuzzy set notion enables us to define the progressive membership of an element to a class, that is to say it belongs to this class more or less strongly. The membership of an object in a class defines a degree of membership given between 0 and 1.

Vague controller: A generalization of fuzzy logic controller

International Journal of Systems Science, 1999
In this research, a vague controller (VC) is synthesized by using the notion of vague sets, which are a generalization of fuzzy sets and characterized by a truth-membership function and a falsity-membership function. The vague sets follow the basic set operations and logic operations defined for fuzzy sets, and are superior to fuzzy sets in that they ...

Hardware implementation of fuzzy logic controller

2005 12th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2005
Fuzzy logic controllers are generally implemented on microprocessors which offer a smooth design surface. The purpose of this article is the implementation of a fuzzy logic controller on a field programmable gate array. The use of field programmable gate array gives the designers the possibility to implement a wide variety of applications, test them ...

Matrix Expression of Logic and Fuzzy Control

Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
This paper gives a matrix expression of logic. Under matrix expression a general description of the logical operations is proposed, which is very convenient in logical inference. Then based on matrix expression the logic operators have been extended to multi-valued logic, which provides a foundation for fuzzy systems.

Fuzzy Logic Controllers

1992
Fuzzy Set Theory, introduced by Zadeh in 1965 [77], has been the subject of much controversy and debate. In recent years, it has found many applications in a variety of fields. Among the most successful applications of this theory has been the area of Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) initiated by the work of Mamdani and Assilian [36]. FLC has had considerable

Fuzzy Logic Control

1989
In this chapter we review previous results in the effort to incorporate approximate reasoning into the control of physical processes. In particular, we wish to review the research in fuzzy logic control and show how the research presented here is a logical extension of that work.
