Fuzzy mathematical morphology for biological image segmentation
Applied Intelligence, 2014Due to the imaging devices, real-world images such as biological images may have poor contrast and be corrupted by noise, so that regions in the images present soft edges and their segmentation turns out to be quite difficult. Fuzzy mathematical morphology can be successfully applied to segment biological images having such characteristics of vagueness

Mathematical Morphology Based on Fuzzy Operators
1993A vision procedure may be considered as the repeated application of image operators until the vision goal is reached. The type of these operators and the spaces on which they are defined and act depends on the specific problem and on what we are searching on the image.

Fuzzy mathematical morphology: Concepts and applications
Vistas in Astronomy, 1996Abstract A fuzzy morphological approach is here presented to retrieve structural properties of images considered as fuzzy sets. The basic concepts of the possibility theory and of the mathematical morphology are briefly illustrated, together with their suggested integration. Some applications to astronomical images are also shown.

Fuzzy inferring mathematical morphology and optical implementation
Optical Engineering, 1996Fuzzification is introduced into gray-scale mathematical mor- phology by using two-input one-output fuzzy rule-based inference sys- tems. The fuzzy inferring dilation or erosion is defined from the approxi- mate reasoning of the two consequences of a dilation or an erosion and an extended rank-order operation.

Fuzzy mathematical morphology: general concepts and decomposition properties
1999 Third International Conference on Knowledge-Based Intelligent Information Engineering Systems. Proceedings (Cat. No.99TH8410), 2003Fuzzy mathematical morphology is an alternative extension of binary morphology to gray-scale morphology, using techniques from fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic. The authors discuss a general logical framework for discrete morphology and investigate the decomposition of the fuzzy morphological operations in this framework.

Color image segmentation based on fuzzy mathematical morphology
Proceedings 2000 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.00CH37101), 2002In this paper, we present a new color image segmentation method. After a color pixel projection into an attribute space, segmentation consists of detecting the different modes associated with homogeneous regions. In order to detect these modes, we show how a color image can be viewed as a fuzzy set with its associated membership function to a mode ...

Bipolar Fuzzy Mathematical Morphology for Spatial Reasoning
2009Bipolarity is an important feature of spatial information, involved in the expressions of preferences and constraints about spatial positioning, or in pairs of "opposite" spatial relations such as left and right. Imprecision should also be taken into account, and fuzzy sets is then an appropriate formalism.

Optical intrinsically fuzzy mathematical morphology for gray-scale image processing
Applied Optics, 1996Intrinsically fuzzy morphological erosion and dilation are extended to a total of eight operations that have been formulated in terms of a single morphological operation-biased dilation. Based on the spatial coding of a fuzzy variable, a bidirectional projection concept is proposed.

Fuzzy Operation Forensics Research Based on Mathematical Morphology
2012To solve the current difficult problem of distinguishing the splice image after retouching, it is necessary to study the digital image blind forensic technology based on mathematical morphology. Through analyzing the characteristics of image edge and artificially fuzzy operation, for the most commonly used fuzzy operation in digital forge synthetic ...
