A Kinetic Monte Carlo Model to Understand Limiting Regimes of Photocurrent and Interfacial Charge Transfer in Organic Semiconductor–Electrolyte Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The interface between a conjugated polymer and phosphate buffer saline is modeled by employing multiphysics kinetic Monte Carlo simulation. Results demonstrate that the Marcus Gerischer theory is inadequate, and particle‐based simulation with molecular Marcus theory is required for accurate modeling.

Convergence of Fuzzy Tori and Quantum Tori for the quantum Gromov-Hausdorff Propinquity: an explicit approach

open access: yes, 2013
Quantum tori are limits of finite dimensional C*-algebras for the quantum Gromov-Hausdorff propinquity, a metric defined by the author as a strengthening of Rieffel's quantum Gromov-Hausdorff designed to retain the C*-algebraic structure.

Deep Learning Analysis of Solid‐Electrolyte Interphase Microstructures in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A transformer‐based deep learning model is developed for segmenting and analyzing high‐resolution TEM images of the solid‐electrolyte interphase (SEI) in lithium‐ion batteries. The model is trained on DFT‐based simulated images and predicts SEI grain and grain boundaries, revealing key microstructural features that govern ion transport and degradation.

Impact of Grain Size on Low‐Temperature Carrier Phase Coherence Length in Polycrystalline Halide Perovskite Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Magnetoresistance measurements on a series of polycrystalline cesium tin iodide (CsSnI3) thin film devices having varying grain sizes reveal no power law dependence with clear signatures of weak anti‐localization (spin‐orbit coupling). Surprisingly, the extracted phase coherence lengths are found to be independent of grain sizes.

Enhancing Grayscale E‐Beam Lithography: Thermal Treatment of Novolak‐Based Resist for 3D Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Surface roughness and chemistry of novolak‐based grayscale resists are dependent on both exposure dose and post‐exposure thermal treatment. The observed trends align with the viscoelastic phase separation model and underscore the need to consider both thermodynamic and kinetic factors in resist processing. By tailoring thermal treatment, it is possible

Photonic Crystal Enhanced Microscopy on a 2D Photonic Crystal Surface

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This work demonstrates the design, fabrication, and the first‐time test of a 2D photonic crystal surface for photonic resonator absorption microscopy. The designed surface uniformly enhances electromagnetic near fields, achieving > 100% improved detecting uniformity for surface‐captured AuNPs from a blocking biosensor assay aimed for detecting SARS‐CoV‐

Advances in Halide Perovskites for Photon Radiation Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights recent progress in perovskite‐based photon radiation detectors, covering organic–inorganic hybrid, inorganic, lead‐free double, and vacancy‐ordered halide perovskites. Their detection performance is compared, material‐specific advantages and challenges are examined, and provides insight into current limitations and future ...
