RANKING-INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY NUMBERS
International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, 2004Intuitionistic fuzzy sets are a generalization of ordinary fuzzy sets which are characterized by a membership function and a non-membership function. In this paper we consider the problem of ranking a set of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. We adopt a statistical viewpoint and interpret each intuitionistic fuzzy number as an ensemble of ordinary fuzzy ...

Ranking Fuzzy Numbers Based on the Mean and Fuzzy Degree of Fuzzy Number
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012In this paper, a novel approach to ranking fuzzy numbers based on the mean and the fuzzy degree of fuzzy number is proposed. In the approach, a new ranking index that is comprehensive consideration of the mean and the fuzzy degree of fuzzy number is constructed, and then the properties of the ranking index are given.

Transitive fuzzy orderings of fuzzy numbers
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1989In this well-organized paper a generalization of the Baas-Kwakernaak index [\textit{S. M. Baas} and \textit{H. Kwakernaak}, Automatica 13, 47-58 (1977; Zbl 0363.90010)] is presented by replacing the min operation in their definition by a t-norm. Essential properties of the thus defined induced fuzzy ordering are established.

Fuzzy Number-Based Hierarchical Fuzzy System
2004Hierarchical fuzzy systems allow for reducing number of rules and for prioritization of rules. To retain fuzziness, intermediate signals should be fuzzy. Transferring fuzzy signal is computationally demanding. Special form of hierarchical fuzzy system is proposed to reduce computational burden.

Measuring Distance of Fuzzy Numbers by Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010Fuzzy numbers and more generally linguistic values are approximate assessments, given by experts and accepted by decision‐makers when obtaining value that is more accurate is impossible or unnecessary. Distance between two fuzzy numbers plays an important role in linguistic decision‐making.

Approximations of Fuzzy Numbers by General Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers
2013Recently, many scholars investigated interval, triangular, trapezoidal, and semi-trapezoidal approximations of fuzzy numbers. These researches can be grouped into two classes: one is to study approximations of fuzzy numbers without any constraint; the other one is to study approximations preserving some attributes. In this paper, we propose two general

Fuzzy relations on fuzzy and non-fuzzy numbers-fast computation formulas
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1989Fast computation formulas for the operation \(\sup_{x,y}\min [h(x),z(y),\phi (x,y)]\) are proved, in case the membership functions h, z of fuzzy numbers and non-fuzzy numbers are ``triangular'', ``rectangular'' and the \(\delta\)-function of Dirac.
