Performance comparison of fuzzy and non-fuzzy classification methods

open access: yesEgyptian Informatics Journal, 2016
In data clustering, partition based clustering algorithms are widely used clustering algorithms. Among various partition algorithms, fuzzy algorithms, Fuzzy c-Means (FCM), Gustafson–Kessel (GK) and non-fuzzy algorithm, k-means (KM) are most popular ...

Fuzzy Clustering Algorithm with Histogram Based Initialization for Remotely Sensed Imagery

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2020
The paper presents histogram-based initialzation of Fuzzy C Means (FCM) clustering algorithm for remote sensing image analysis. The drawback of well known FCM clustering is sensitive to the choice of initial cluster centers.

A GIS-Based Fuzzy Multiclassification Framework Applied for Spatiotemporal Analysis of Phenomena in Urban Contexts

open access: yesInformation, 2022
In this research, we propose a GIS-based framework implementing a fuzzy-based document classification method aimed at classifying urban areas by the type of criticality inherent or specific problems highlighted by citizens.

Assessment of Heart Disease using Fuzzy Classification Techniques

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2001
In this paper we discuss the classification results of cardiac patients of ischemical cardiopathy, valvular heart disease, and arterial hypertension, based on 19 characteristics (descriptors) including ECHO data, effort testings, and age and weight.

An outlier–robust neuro–fuzzy system for classification and regression

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2021
Real life data often suffer from non-informative objects—outliers. These are objects that are not typical in a dataset and can significantly decline the efficacy of fuzzy models.

A Novel Method Based on the Fuzzy Entropy Measure to Optimize the Fuzziness in Trapezoidal Strong Fuzzy Partitions

open access: yesInformation
Analyzing the uncertainty of outcomes based on estimates of the data’s membership degrees to fuzzy sets is essential for making decisions. These fuzzy sets are often designated by experts as strong fuzzy partitions of the data domain with trapezoidal ...

Partitions and fuzziness

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1986
This paper presents properties of classical or generalized partitions. First of all, fuzzy binary relations are defined on a finite set, satisfying an extension of the transitivity property and associated with a distance. Characterizations of such relations by matricial properties are given.

LG-FUZZY PARTITION OF UNITY

open access: yesJOURNAL OF RAMANUJAN SOCIETY OF MATHEMATICS AND MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES, 2022
In this paper, we define LGc-fuzzy Euclidean topological space with countable basis, which L denotes a complete distributive lattice and we show that each LGc-fuzzy open covering of this space can be refined to an LGc-fuzzy open covering that is locally finite.

Logical Entropy of Fuzzy Dynamical Systems

open access: yesEntropy, 2016
Recently the logical entropy was suggested by D. Ellerman (2013) as a new information measure. The present paper deals with studying logical entropy and logical mutual information and their properties in a fuzzy probability space.

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.
