Fuzzy precompensation of PID controllers
Proceedings of IEEE International Conference on Control and Applications, 2002While PID controllers are widely used in industrial applications, they exhibit poor performance when applied to systems containing unknown nonlinearities, such as deadzones, saturation, and hysteresis. In this paper, we propose a fuzzy logic-based precompensation approach for PID controllers. We demonstrate the performance of our scheme via experiments

Optimization of a Fuzzy PID Controller
2011There are strong nonlinear characteristics in an active magnetic bearing (AMB) system. For a simple magnetic levitation ball model with one degree of freedom (DOF), there are problems that are difficult to be solved by using linear control methods (such as PID control method).

A Fuzzy PID controller applied in AGV control system
2016 International Conference on Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics (ICARM), 2016With the rapid progress in science and technology, intelligent AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) is more and more popular in industrial automation. However, since it is very difficult for the traditional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) to strike a balance between the static and dynamic performance of system. In order to make AGV control system more

Fuzzy PID Control of Microgrids
2019The purpose of this chapter is design and application of intelligent methods based on the fuzzy logic (FL) type PID controller for adaptive controlling of the microgrids. The traditional structure of the power systems is being changed continuously due to environmental limitations and depreciated infrastructures.

An Optimal Fuzzy-PID Controller for Aircraft Pitch Control
Infotech@Aerospace 2012, 2012This paper presents a simple-structured Fuzzy-PID controller for pitch control of a linearized, full-scale, generic transport aircraft model. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is applied to oine optimize the Fuzzy-PID controller scaling gains as well as simultaneously optimize parameters within the rst order Takagi-Sugeno (TS) type inference system ...

Design and analysis of a multistage fuzzy PID controller
2015 American Control Conference (ACC), 2015Classical PID controllers remain one of the simplest, most effective, robust, and easily certifiable control strategies. However, this simplicity comes with a price. Design tradeoffs between integral and derivative gain in a linear PID controller often make it difficult to achieve optimal performance. For example, increasing the integral term to reduce

Two-level tuning of fuzzy PID controllers
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2001Fuzzy PID tuning requires two stages of tuning; low level tuning followed by high level tuning. At the higher level, a nonlinear tuning is performed to determine the nonlinear characteristics of the fuzzy output. At the lower level, a linear tuning is performed to determine the linear characteristics of the fuzzy output for achieving overall ...

Comparison of Fuzzy and PID Controllers for the Attitude Control of Nanosatellites
2018In this work, a random statistical analysis has been used to compare the behavior of a classical PID and a Fuzzy controller for the attitude control of a nanosatellite. Both controllers were designed in a previous work. Here, their performance and robustness have been analyzed in a wide range of configurations and scenarios.

Intelligent Fuzzy PID Controller
2008This chapter aims to describe the development and two tuning methods for a self-organising fuzzy PID controller. Before application of fuzzy logic, the PID gains are tuned by conventional tuning methods. In the first tuning method, fuzzy logic at the supervisory level readjusts the three PID gains during the system operation.
