Fuzzy PID Controller: Design, Tuning and Comparison with Conventional PID Controller
2006 IEEE International Conference on Engineering of Intelligent Systems, 2006In this paper, a fuzzy proportional integral derivative (PID) controller is proposed which can be tuned by carrying the tuning rules from PID domain to fuzzy domain. As a nonlinear controller can control a nonlinear process more efficiently, fuzzy controller can provide better performance in terms of rise time and smaller overshoot.

A fuzzy PID controller being like parameter varying PID
FUZZ-IEEE'99. 1999 IEEE International Fuzzy Systems. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.99CH36315), 1999A fuzzy-PID controller using the minimum inference engine and center average defuzzification is analyzed and shown that it behaves approximately like a parameter varying PID controller. We then try to analyze the effect of this kind of controller when using different rule bases. Simulation results are used to demonstrate the feasibility of this method.

An Improved Robust Fuzzy-PID Controller With Optimal Fuzzy Reasoning
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2005Many fuzzy control schemes used in industrial practice today are based on some simplified fuzzy reasoning methods, which are simple but at the expense of losing robustness, missing fuzzy characteristics, and having inconsistent inference. The concept of optimal fuzzy reasoning is introduced in this paper to overcome these shortcomings.

Fuzzy Adaptive PID Control Tank Level
2010 International Conference on Multimedia Communications, 2010Based on the fuzzy PID control theory, liquid level of the tank which output flow is arbitrary is controlled. Because the limited capacity of water tank and the water tank level influence on the output, we must adopt advanced and precise method to control the liquid level of tank. Since the output uncertainty using conventional PID control is difficult

A fuzzy self-adjustment PID Controller
2009 IEEE 10th International Conference on Computer-Aided Industrial Design & Conceptual Design, 2009In this paper, PID Parameters are first normalized on the basis of engineering adjustment, and then are adjusted by Fuzzy control principle and fuzzy interence. A fuzzy self-adjustment PID controll algorithm is proposed. The PID Controller has the ability of adapting to such complexity and hard control object as non-lined time-varient uncertainly and ...

Using fuzzy logic in control applications: beyond fuzzy PID control
IEEE Control Systems, 1998Fuzzy logic is used mostly to handle high-level control functions that traditional control methods do not address. This article discusses different ways that fuzzy logic can be used in high-level control functions. Specifically, we examine the use of fuzzy logic for supervisory control, for selecting discrete control actions, for identifying the ...

Improving Vegas Algorithm Using PID and Fuzzy PID Controllers
2006Since in the TCP protocol the source has no idea which congestion window size will result in the best performance, it tunes the window size according to parameters such as loss, duplicate acknowledge and etc. The Vegas algorithm is one of the most intelligent flow control algorithms that despite other protocols, tunes the window size by estimation of ...
