Abstract In practical applications of fuzzy set theory, e.g., in pattern recognition, information retrieval, etc., the reader is not advised-for the reasons of the amount of the considered object universal set and the capacity of computer memory involved-to consider fuzzy sets defined in the whole universal set, when it is sufficient-from the point of ...

Fuzzy Probabilistic Sets and r-Fuzzy Sets
2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2008In this paper, a connection between the fuzzy probabilistic set and the r-fuzzy set is established. Firstly, a new concept of r-fuzzy nested set is presented and it is pointed that a fuzzy probabilistic set is an equivalent class of a r-fuzzy nested set.

Fuzzy rough sets are intuitionistic L-fuzzy sets
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1998The concepts of intuitionistic \(L\)-fuzzy sets (IL-FS) [see \textit{K. Atanassov} and \textit{S. Stoeva}, ``Intuitionistic \(L\)-fuzzy sets'', in: R. Trappl (ed.), Cybernetics and systems research 2, 539-540 (1984; Zbl 0547.03030)], which are extensions of the IFSs [\textit{K. T. Atanassov}, ``Intuitionistic fuzzy sets'', Fuzzy Sets Syst.

Fuzzy Setting: Fuzziness of General Information
2012The aim of this paper is to give, on the fuzzy setting, a definition of fuzziness for the information without probability or fuzzy measure (general information).

Bipolar Fuzzy Sets Are Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets
Proceedings of the Bulgarian Academy of SciencesIn 1983 the Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets (IFSs) were introduced as an extension of Zadeh's fuzzy sets. Fifteen years later the Bipolar Fuzzy Sets (BFSs) were introduced as a new extension of fuzzy sets. In the article it is proved that each BFS can be transformed injectively or bijectively to an IFSs.

GENUINE SETS, VARIOUS KINDS OF FUZZY SETS AND FUZZY ROUGH SETS
International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, 2003In this paper, deriving the type-m fuzzy sets, intuitionistic fuzzy sets, Φ-fuzzy sets, rough sets, fuzzy rough sets and rough fuzzy sets as particular genuine sets, and establishing their connections with genuine sets, it is demonstrated that the theory of genuine sets provides a powerful tool to model various different kinds of uncertainty in a ...
