Fuzzy techniques for software reuse
Proceedings of the 1996 ACM symposium on Applied Computing - SAC '96, 1996This paper discusses uncertainties in software develop ment for reuse and maintenance. In part icular , we present how fuzzy techniques can help in handling a source of uncer ta inty: the classification of components and their retrieval for reuse according to software behavioral properties. Behavioral classification is inherently impre.cise, due to the

Defuzzification techniques for fuzzy controllers
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2000Based on the features and disadvantages of the commonly used defuzzification techniques and on the elements involved in the structure of a fuzzy controller, a new and advantageous defuzzification technique is introduced and justified. This is done by integrating the defuzzification problem into the global structure of fuzzy controllers. Another related

Fuzzy and Neuro-fuzzy Techniques for Modelling and Control
2006This paper presents comparative evaluation of two fuzzy-derived techniques for modelling fuel spray penetration in the cylinder of a diesel internal combustion engine and a fuzzy control system for a small internal combustion engine. The first technique used a pure fuzzy paradigm, the parameters of this technique are a collection of intuitively ...

Fuzzy Location Selection Techniques
2010Facility location has an important role in terms of firms’ strategic planning in the management science and operational research. One of the most common facility location problems is the location selection problem which is the most ancient but has been still a current problem for organizations.

A technique for fuzzy document binarization
Proceedings of the 2001 ACM Symposium on Document engineering, 2001This paper proposes a new method for fuzzy binarization of digital document. The proposed approach achieves binarization using both the image gray-levels and additional local spatial features. Both, gray-level and local features values feed a Kohonen Self-Organized Feature Map (SOFM) neural network classifier.

Fuzzy hybrid techniques in modeling
1998We will describe several methods to approximate the fuzzy rules tuning and generation problem. To generate the rules we will use several clustering algorithms. This approach supposes that the data lacks of structure. To tune the rules we will use two different techniques. One of them is based in descent gradients.

Neuro-fuzzy techniques for traffic control
Control Engineering Practice, 1997Abstract Intersection stage control using Forward Dynamic Programming (FDP) with a sample time of five seconds is already effective on the field. Neuro-fuzzy techniques are proposed here for controlling each light each second. Rules, fuzzyfication and inference are modeled by a neural network.

Fuzzy decision tree based on fuzzy-rough technique
Soft Computing, 2010Using an efficient criterion in selection of fuzzy conditional attributes (i.e. expanded attributes) is important for generation of fuzzy decision trees. Given a fuzzy information system (FIS), fuzzy conditional attributes play a crucial role in fuzzy decision making. Besides, different fuzzy conditional attributes have different influences on decision

A fuzzy technique to control congestion in WSN
The 2013 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN), 2013Congestion in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is a crucial issue. That is due to the relatively high node density and source-to-sink communication pattern. Congestion not only causes packet loss, but also leads to excessive energy consumption as well as delay.

A novel fuzzy result ranking technique
2017 Joint 17th World Congress of International Fuzzy Systems Association and 9th International Conference on Soft Computing and Intelligent Systems (IFSA-SCIS), 2017Database queries usually consist of elementary query conditions combined with each other using connectives. Elementary query conditions are typically Boolean-valued functions defined over one or more properties. These elementary query conditions may be described in an imperfect way, or they may be described perfectly, but correspond to attributes for ...
