Neuro-Fuzzy Techniques for Image Tracking
2003This work presents the application of neuro-fuzzy techniques to develop a rule-based fuzzy system as an efficient and robust approach for object tracking based on sequences of video images. The fuzzy system is a new approach for data association problems in video image sequences, which uses JPDA formulation adapted to cope with video data peculiarities.

Microcellular handoff using fuzzy techniques
Wireless Networks, 1998In order to manage the high call density expected in future cellular systems, microcell must be used. The size of the microcell will cause a dramatic increase in the number of handoffs. In addition, the small size of the microcell will require handoff algorithms to respond faster than those in today's systems.

Perturbation techniques for fuzzy matrix equations
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2000Let \(X{\circ}A = B\) be a solvable fuzzy matrix equation, where \(A\) is an \(m{\times}n\) matrix, \(X\) is an \(1{\times}m\) matrix and \(B\) is a \(1{\times}n\) matrix, and \(\circ\) is max-min composition. The author considers the perturbation of some elements of the matrix \(A\) and investigates some problems arising in this situation. Moreover he

Fuzzy Techniques for XML Data Smushing
2001The recently proposed notion of a Semantic Web requires XML/RDF processing techniques able to locate, extract and organise heterogeneous information contained in XML documents coming from different sites, dealing flexibly with differences in structure and tag vocabulary.

Applications of Fuzzy Capital Budgeting Techniques
2007Summary. In an uncertain economic decision environment, an expert's knowledge about dicounting cash flows consists of a lot of vagueness instead of randomness. Cash amounts and interest rates are usually estimated by using educated guesses based on expected values or other statistical techniques to obtain them.

Fuzzy techniques for adaptive nonlinear equalization
Signal Processing, 2000This paper presents a review of the application of fuzzy filters to the nonlinear channel equalization problem. The paper presents the development of fuzzy filters for channel equalization applications first. The close relationship between fuzzy equalizers and the equalizer based on the maximum a posteriori probability principle (MAP) is derived.

A neuro-fuzzy technique for document binarisation
Neural Computing & Applications, 2003This paper proposes a new neuro-fuzzy technique suitable for binarisation or, in general, the colour reduction of digital documents. The proposed approach uses the image colour values and additional local spatial features extracted in the neighbourhood of the pixels.

About the use of fuzzy clustering techniques for fuzzy model identification
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1999Abstract In this work we present an alternative approach to generate fuzzy rules with a functional consequent associated to the TSK fuzzy model. In our case, using fuzzy clustering algorithms that look for linear behaviours in the product space of the input-output data, we analyse different methods to generate the associated fuzzy rules using in some

Fuzzy Logic Based Techniques for Partial and Fuzzy Constraint Satisfaction
Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, 1995ABSTRACTPartial and fuzzy constraint satisfaction involves finding an assignment of values to the variables that maximally satisfies the given set of constraints. Fuzzy logic is a very suitable mathematical tool for representing and reasoning about constraints that are better viewed as “preferences” than “restrictions,” or that do not have a sharp ...

Application of Fuzzy Inference Techniques to FMEA
2006In traditional Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), the Risk Priority Number (RPN) ranking system is used to evaluate the risk level of failures, to rank failures, and to prioritize actions. This approach is simple but it suffers from several weaknesses.
