Impact of nonlocal response in plasmonic metasurfaces on four-wave mixing

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
We report the impact of nonlocal response in metallic nanostructures on four-wave mixing (FWM) process in nonlinear plasmonic metasurfaces which consist of Au nanostrips coupled with Au film spaced by an ultrathin dielectric film.

Integrated microrings for on-chip filtering and efficient FWM generation [PDF]

open access: yes2016 Photonics North (PN), 2016
A silicon micro-ring device with tunable four-wave mixing efficiency is presented. The micro-ring is monolithically integrated with a dual polarisation filter based on a cascaded three ring resonator geometry. Four-wave mixing is demonstrated with signal and idler transmitted through the filter with only 1.8 dB of insertion loss.

Performance Analysis of the Four-Wave Mixing Effect with Various Tapered Fiber Waist Diameters

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
In this work, we report the use of different waist diameters of tapered fiber to generate a four-wave mixing (FWM) effect. The FWM conversion efficiencies obtained from the tapered fiber with 10 µm, 20 µm, and 30 µm waist diameters were −37.81 dB, −38.50

THEORY OF FWM TRANSMISSION AMPLIFICATION IN PLASMAS

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 1994
The theory of FWM transmission amplification of ordinary wave mixing in magnetized plasma is investigated. The exact solutions are derived for the degenerate and nondegenerate cases and are adapted for EM wave mixing in unmagnetized plasma.

Millimeter-resolution long-range OFDR using ultra-linearly 100 GHz-swept optical source realized by injection-locking technique and cascaded FWM process.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a millimeter-resolution long-range optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) using an ultra-linearly 100-GHz swept optical source realized by injection-locking technique and cascaded four-wave-mixing (FWM ...

Accurate measurement of in-band FWM power in DWDM systems over non-zero dispersion fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A novel accurate measurement technique of the in-band four-wave mixing (FWM) power in dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) over nonzero dispersion fibers is presented.

Direct generation of orthogonally polarized photon pairs on a chip via spontaneous non-degenerate FWM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
By suppressing stimulated processes, we demonstrate the direct generation of orthogonally polarized photon pairs via spontaneous non-degenerate four-wave-mixing (FWM) between orthogonally polarized pumps in a CMOS-compatible micro-ring.

Orthogonally polarized correlated photon pair generation on a chip via self- Pumped spontaneous non- Degenerate FWM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We demonstrate orthogonally polarized photon pair generation via spontaneous nondegenerate four-wave-mixing (FWM) of orthogonally polarized pumps in a CMOS compatible micro-ring resonator by fully suppressing stimulated FWM.
