Chip Scale Emission of Blue Light at Elevated Temperatures in Optical Waveguides Integrated With Rubidium Vapor

An integrated atom‐clad waveguide enables chip‐scale blue light generation (420 nm) via a two‐photon ladder transition in rubidium vapor at temperatures up to 240°C. The observed bell‐shaped intensity profile reveals a competitive interplay between local photon generation and macroscopic vapor reabsorption.
